The Children and Youth Harvest Thanksgiving and Bazaar themed: HARVEST OF DIVINE HEALTH was held on 29th September 2024, bringing together families, friends, and parishioners to celebrate the goodness of God and bounty of the season. The event aimed to promote community spirit, showcase the talents of young participants, and raise funds for the building and development of the Kingdom of God here on Earth.

The harvest was also aimed to foster community engagement and connection among families, to provide children and youth with a platform to unleash their talents in leadership creativity to raising funds for the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The event featured a range of activities organized by children and youth, including dancing and entertainment. This provided young attendees with leadership opportunities and allowed them to engage with their peers in a fun, creative environment.

The day commenced with a heartfelt thanksgiving MASS celebrated by the Parish Priests, Very Rev. Fr. Anthony I. Chimekwene and his assistant Rev. Fr. Peter Okoka.

Attendees offered various thanksgiving items in gratitude to God for Good Health, Protection, Promotion and Provision in the midst of economic downtime. The youth delivered inspiring speeches, fostering a sense of gratitude to God and to the Big Family of Saint Joseph for the privilege given them to host this year’s harvest.

The programme included performances by Children, including music, dance. This performance highlighted the diverse talents of the young participants and entertained the audience throughout the day.

The event successfully brought together over 500 hundred members of the community, fostering connections and celebrating the collective achievements of children and youth.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Parents expressed gratitude for the opportunity for their children to engage in meaningful activities, and many commented on the wonderful sense of community fostered throughout the day. Participants noted that they appreciated the variety of activities and the supportive commitment of the parishioners.

The Children and Youth Harvest Thanksgiving and Bazaar was a resounding success, meeting its objectives and leaving a lasting positive impression on the community. The event not only celebrated the season but also empowered youth, strengthened community bonds, and raised essential funds for the Church. Plans are already in motion to host the upcoming Adult harvest with hopes of expanding its reach and impact in future years.
